“STOP IT Woman!” (E)

Sunday morning, I continued the “Focus on the Family: Issues, Identity, and Intentionality” sermon series. I am still focusing on ‘Issues’ that need to be faced head on. I am doing this first, because if the ‘issues’ being discussed aren’t addressed, moving toward personal, marital, or familial vitality will not happen.

So far we have looked at the issue of men and pornography as well as the way men treat their wives.

Sunday (Jan. 29th), we looked at the issue of women and submission.

After showing a video of Bob Newhart counseling a woman to ‘Stop It!’ I encouraged the ladies in our congregation to stop submitting to men. [Please listen or watch the sermon in order to understand what I mean by that!]

The outline/acrostic I used looked like this:

S – Start with God

T – Tell yourself the Truth

O – Own Up to your Husband

P – Put on Class

I – Identify Real Empowerment

T – Train to Recognize.
