NO Fourth Friday Fast This Friday!!! (E)

Being that our annual Global Impact Conference is fast approaching (Oct. 23rd – 30th, 2011) AND we are seeking the Lord’s direction on which Unreached Unengaged People Groups (UUPG’s) to embrace I want us to refrain from fasting and praying this Friday.

Say what???

Instead of fasting and praying this Friday I want to call the church to 40 hours of prayer, specifically for God to reveal to WBC which UUPG’s He wants us to intentionally and strategically take the Gospel to in the years ahead. There are currently well over 6,000 of these UUPG’s that exist in the world. The International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is emphasizing an effort across the convention for churches to embrace at least one UUPG. Read all about it here.

So, for the next four Mondays (September 26th, October 3rd, October 10th, and October 17th) I am going to ask WBC members to sign up for a specific time between 8 am and 6 pm on each of those dates to come and pray for God to show us which people groups He wants us to embrace. That’s 10 hours for 4 Mondays in a row – 40 hours of prayer.

In addition, on October 21st, 2011 (Third Friday Fast!!!) I am calling the church to fast and pray specifically for our GIC and for God to send out more laborers into His harvest.
